Calculate your business mileage or even your mortgage payments with the Windows 7 calculator.

The reliable Calculator applet has been 'beefed up' to do more than just basic arithmetic. You can now toggle between Standard, Scientific, Programmer, and even Statistics modes. In addition, the Options menu lets you pull out many new automated conversation tools, such as Unit Conversion (e.g., Angles, Temperature, Velocity, and Volume) and Date Calculation (e.g., calculate the difference between two dates). More templates give you the ability to crunch gas mileage, lease tipping points, and even mortgage estimates based on any variables you input.

iPad saves Norwegian President!

Jens Stoltenberg, the Norwegian prime minister who had flown to New York to attend President Obama’s nuclear summit, was left stranded at Newark Airport, because of the volcanic ash cloud coming from Iceland, preventing most travel in and around Europe.

This did not stop the prime minister continuing with his daily work using Apple’s tablet computer device. Stoltenberg has managed to get his hands on the highly popular iPad device, despite Apple’s announcement last week that it has had to delay the international launch by a month – due to a “surprisingly strong US demand”. It launched in the US on April 3, with prices beginning at $499.
Apple said it would announce international pricing for the iPad and begin taking pre-orders on Monday, May 10. The iPad has been hailed by many as a revolutionary device for mobile computing. Apple sees the iPad as the ideal ‘third category’ device - bridging the gap between smartphones and laptop computers.

Stoltenberg is now understood to be on his way home after catching a flight to Madrid and finishing the last leg of his journey by car!
